Before his current position, he worked in business organizations as engineer and manager, including project manager and program manager of R&amp;D projects. He holds a PhD in management engineering from The University of Birmingham, UK. He has a research Grantee for Productivity in Research from the Brazilian NRC (CNPq), since 1996. His main interests are in decision-making related to multiple objectives and group decision problems, which includes methodological issues and applications. Also, he has been working as a consultant and with R&amp;D projects for private and public organizations, where he has applied decision models in many contexts, such as: risk analysis, reliability and maintenance, project portfolio, R&amp;D project portfolio, project management, strategic modeling, outsourcing, information systems, supply chain, and water management. He authored or co-author several scientific papers in reviewed journals related to a variety of topics such as: Operational Research, Group Decision, Decision Systems, MCDM\/A (Multicriteria Decision Making and Aid), Risk, Reliability, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, and Water Resources. He serves on\u00a0the editorial board of management and engineering scholarly journals, such as: Group Decision and Negotiation, IMA Journal of Management Mathematics and Journal of Quality and Reliability Engineering. In 2000 he moved to the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, as a lecturer and became full Professor in 2011. Currently he is Professor and Head of the Management Science Department at Lancaster University Management School in the UK. Matthias\u2019 research interest is in multi-objective optimization, which he applies in a variety of areas such as medicine, transportation, and\u00a0manufacturing. He has published about 80 journal papers, book chapters and proceedings contributions on theory, methodology, and applications of multi-objective optimization. In addition he has authored and edited about 30 books, proceedings volumes and special issues of journals on the topic. The book \u201cMulticriteria Optimization\u201d (Springer, 2005) is a standard monograph\u00a0in the field. In total his work has\u00a0been cited more than 8,000 times (Google Scholar). He\u00a0serves on the editorial board of 10 journals, including Computers &amp; OR, and Journal of Global Optimization. Since 2002 he has been on the Executive Committee of the International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making, where he is the current president elect. From 2008 to 2012 he has been Vice President of the Operations Research Society of New Zealand. He organized the 19th\u00a0International MCDM Conference\u00a0in 2008 and was on the programme committee of many other international conferences.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Petr Ekel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-388 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/cdsid.org.br\/mc-summer-school2016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/foto-petr-e1448890997900.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"141\" height=\"141\" \/>Professor Petr Ya. Ekel has experience in research, teaching, public service, and consulting. More than 50 projects related to system modeling, optimization, and control, including power system planning and operation, have been developed under his leadership or with his participation. He has published over 290 works: books (the last his book is &#8220;Fuzzy Multicriteria Decision-Making: Models, Methods, and Applications&#8221; with W. Pedrycz and R. Parreiras), book chapters, journal and conference articles, state standards, patent). He obtained his Electrical Engineering and Ph.D. degrees from the Kiev Polytechnic Institute (KPI) and D.Sc. (habil.) degree from the Higher Certifying Commission of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. He has ranks of Senior Researcher, Full Professor, and Academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Engineering Sciences. From 1990 to 2004 he was a Full Professor at KPI. He is at present a Full Professor of the Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, supervisor of Ph.D. studies at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, and Executive Director and Principal Consultant at the Advanced System Optimization Technologies, Belo Horizonte, Brazil.\u00a0 He was and is a member and honorary member of the editorial boards of 15 journals (in &#8220;Information Sciences&#8221;, &#8220;International Journal of Systems, Control and Communications&#8221;, and &#8220;Operations Research&#8221;, is also an associate editor). In his research, he combines Operations Research, Decision Making, and Computational Intelligence. Professor Figueira taught and did research also at University of Evora, University of Coimbra, Nancy\u2019s School of Mines, and Technical University of Lisbon. Former member of LAMSADE (University Paris-Dauphine), INESC-Coimbra and DIMACS (Rutgers and Princeton Universities) research centers. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1996 in the field of Operations Research from University of Paris-Dauphine and his HDR at the same University in 2009 in the field of Multiple Criteria in Operations Research and Decision Aiding. Professor Figueira\u2019s current research interests are in decision analysis, integer programming, network flows and multiple criteria decision aiding, medical decision-making. Fonseca is an Associate Professor at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dei.uc.pt\/\">Departament of Informatics Engineering<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uc.pt\/\">University of Coimbra<\/a>, Portugal, and the Head of the Evolutionary and Complex Systems (ECOS)\u00a0group of the \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cisuc.uc.pt\/\">Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC)<\/a>. His\u00a0research has been devoted mainly to evolutionary computation and multi-\u00adobjective optimization.\u00a0In the 1990&#8217;s, he proposed MOGA, a \u201cfirst\u00ad-generation\u201d multi\u00adobjective evolutionary algorithm\u00a0with support for progressive preference articulation through goals and priorities, and began the\u00a0development of the attainment\u00ad-function approach to the experimental evaluation of stochastic\u00a0multi-\u00adobjective optimization algorithms. Since then, he has focused on the study of evolutionary\u00a0algorithm dynamics, including representation and convergence aspects; further development of\u00a0statistical methodologies for the experimental evaluation of multi-\u00adobjective optimization\u00a0algorithms, and of efficient algorithms to support them; and the development of new,\u00a0computationally efficient, approaches to preference articulation in evolutionary multi-objective\u00a0optimization. Carlos Fonseca was a General co\u00adChair of the International Conference on\u00a0Evolutionary Multi\u00ad-Criterion Optimization (EMO) in 2003, 2009 and 2013, and a Technical co-Chair of the IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC) in 2000 and 2005. He is a\u00a0member of the Evolutionary Multi\u00ad-Criterion Optimization Steering Committee, and of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.apdio.pt\/\">Portuguese Operations Research Association<\/a>\u00a0(APDIO).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Martin J. He is also &#8220;Doktor der Wirtschaftswissenschaften (Dr. oec.)&#8221; (summa cum laude) (Universit\u00e4t Hohenheim; submitted 2004, awarded 2005), and hold the academic degree of Master of Philosophy in Computer Science from the University of Nottingham, UK. Also at the Universit\u00e4t Hohenheim, he successfully completed a postdoctoral &#8220;Habilitation&#8221;, earning the &#8220;Venia Legendi&#8221; in &#8220;Betriebswirtschaftslehre&#8221; (Business Administration; submitted 07\/2008, awarded 2009). Prior to joining the faculty of the Helmut-Schmidt-University\/ University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg in July 2009, he held a position as a tenured Associate Professor in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense campus, Denmark (2008\u20132009). Before, he was an &#8220;Akademischer Rat&#8221; (translates to something like a non-tenured Assistant Professor) at the &#8220;Lehrstuhl f\u00fcr Industriebetriebslehre&#8221; (Production and Logistics Management Department) of the Universit\u00e4t Hohenheim at Stuttgart, Germany (2005\u20132008). From 2003 to 2005, he was member of the Automated Scheduling, Optimisation and Planning Research Group at the University of Nottingham, UK, conducting research on a project involving an industrial partner from the printing industry. 2001 to 2002: research and teaching assistant, &#8220;Lehrstuhl f\u00fcr Industriebetriebslehre&#8221; (Production and Logistics Management Department), Universit\u00e4t Hohenheim at Stuttgart, Germany. He gained some industry experience during his times as a business consultant at &#8220;Bauder Management Partner&#8221; (now called averi) in Stuttgart, Germany (1999\u20132000). He received his degree in Economics from the University of Catania, Italy, in 1988 and has been an active researcher in the area of Multiple Criteria Decision Aiding (MCDA), Rough Set Theory, non-additive integrals since 1994. He is one of the three editors of a state-of the art surveys collection in MCDA that has become a reference text in the domain and he received the Multiple Criteria Decision Making Gold Medal (2013). Prior to this position, she received her M.Sc. of Science at the Helmut-Schmidt-University. In 2016 she was awarded with her PhD degree with a thesis on\u00a0<em>Interactive Multiobjective Optimization in Supply Chain Management &#8211; Local search strategies for Rich Vehicle Routing Problems <\/em>(advisor: Professor Martin Josef Geiger). Sandras\u2019 research area is in decision support and supply chain management. She is particularly interested in multi-objective combinatorial optimization, interactive approaches and the simulation of preference information. Currently, she is editing a book with Martin Josef Geiger and Adiel T. de Almeida with the title <em>Cases based on Multiple Criteria Decision Making\/ Aiding Methods: Building and Solving Decision Models with Computer Implementations. <\/em>In 2015 she helped to organize the 23<sup>rd<\/sup> International MCDM Conference. Also, she is part of the newsletter editorial team of the International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making. He received his M.Sc. in Computer Science (2008) from Poznan University of Technology and defended his PhD thesis in 2012. He is an author of not less than 25 papers published in JCR journal such as Omega, EJOR, INS, C&amp;OR, DSS, GDN, JOGO, MLJ, IJITDM, and KBS. His research interest are in Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis (Preference Learning, Rough Sets, Robustness Analysis), Interactive and Evolutionary Multiple Objective Optimization, Data Envelopment Analysis, and Information and Software Technologies. Since 2009, he has been an active contributor to the Decision Deck project (http:\/\/www.decision-deck.org\/project\/) which aims at collaboratively developing Open Source software tools implementing MCDA methods. He is the winner of MCDM Doctoral Dissertation Award 2013 and top 3 finalist of EURO Doctoral Dissertation Award 2013.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Ralph L. He is Research Professor Emeritus of Business Administration, Duke University, and Research Professor Emeritus of Industrial and Systems Engineering, University of Southern California. His areas of expertise are decision analysis, risk analysis, and systems management. He is an authority on decision making with multiple objectives and value-focused thinking. During his professional career, Dr. Keeney has contributed substantially toward the development of decision analysis and risk analysis. His experience includes corporate management problems, public policy, risk analyses, and large-scale siting studies (e.g., airports, power plants). Dr. Keeney has been a consultant for several organizations including Fair Isaac, Seagate Technology, American Express, British Columbia Hydro, Pacific Gas and Electric, BC Gas , Kaiser Permanente, Hewlett-Packard, the Electric Power Research Institute, Greater Vancouver Regional District, International Institute of Management (Berlin), Ministry of Public Works (Mexico), International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (Austria), U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Professor Keeney&#8217;s books, which have been translated into\u00a0numerous languages, include Decisions with Multiple Objectives with Howard Raiffa (1976, 1993), Value-Focused Thinking: A Path to Creative Decisionmaking (1992), and Smart Choices: A Practical Guide to Making Better Decisions, with John S. Hammond and Howard Raiffa (1999).
